After my 29 cent European tour it was off to England.  There I met up with our VP of Business Development and VP of Engineering.  Still nice guys, even with 'VP' in their titles........ I totally did not pick this hotel for the first two nights.......

It's called Grim's Dyke and it was the home of WS Gilbert of Gilbert and Sullivan fame.  So there's a whole lot of theme. My room was apparently all about The Mikado

My room was in the lodge rather than the main building. Not so keen on the location if the weather was bad because of the walk up to the restaurant. But, we had great weather for most of the trip.

Nice place and really, considering it's proximity to London (Old Redding, Harrow), not that expensive.  When I go back on my own dime it's still a place I'd consider staying if we were going to spend a couple days looking around London.

Our evening gathering place. Mind you, when chicky-poo told me the first night that a pint was 4 pounds 50 I was ready to move along..... The main entrance

This is in the restaurant, obviously, not one of the guest rooms.....

A sitting room in the main hotel building. As I recall, this is where the internet lived..... Of course, I'm a very good driver... Our little Vauxhall Zafira. I was concerned when I got it because it looks like a little bus but it handled great Once you got past the wicked, twitchy brake pedal and remembered to stay left instead of right...
